WHAT ARE VENEERS
Veneers are thin, layered shells of porcelain or composite that can be attached to teeth. They are used when teeth are damaged, chipped, excessively stained, or worn. They can also alter the shapes of teeth and close gaps between teeth as required. If looked after well, veneers can last many years, leaving a stunning, long-lasting smile. They are not particularly invasive and often require minimal, if any, natural tooth adjustment at all.
Veneers enable a quick and guaranteed way to whiten and correct minor discrepancies in tooth shape and provide more uniformity. Minor orthodontic/tooth positioning discrepancies can sometimes be camouflaged with porcelain veneers, which could be beneficial, particularly if orthodontic treatment is not an option.
When providing veneers, we will consider the current shape of the teeth, their colour, facial and gum contours, and things like lip position and tooth symmetry to decide on the character and profile of the veneers. We can also perform a wax version attached to a model of your teeth so you can see and sometimes even trial the smile before any treatment begins.
